By Car

Take the Great Langdale road from Skelwith Bridge for 4.2 miles until you reach the Lanty Slees pub & New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. Turn right into the lane. At the top turn left and go behind the Lanty Slees pub.

 

Be aware that if using Sat Nav, the postcode will take you to a field, 300m past the driveway you need to take! So when your Sat Nav is getting close, start looking for a driveway (usually on your right) with “Slanty Lees” signposted. Take this driveway, go to the end and turn right.

 

 

 

Public Transport:

 

Train: 

There is a train to Windermere from Oxenholme. You will need to use either a taxi or catch a bus from there.

 

Bus: 

The 516 goes from Ambleside approximately every 2 hours and will stop at the end of the drive if you ask the drive to drop you at the Sticklebarn. If you arrive by train to Windermere then there will be many buses that go from Windermere to Ambleside and most of them will drop you at the bus stop for the 516 on Kelsick road opposite the library.
